Description

Completion Date:2005
This project involved the design and construction of four aircraft hangars totaling approximately 26,100 square feet at the John Bell Williams Airport in Raymond, MS. The facilities were developed to support the expanding aviation programs offered by Hinds Community College, which serves approximately 19,500 students annually across six campus locations.

The hangars are slab-on-grade structures with steel superstructures and are equipped with 45-foot-wide, electrically operated vertical bi-folding doors. Each hangar is strategically partitioned to optimize leasable storage space, enhancing the college’s ability to generate revenue while supporting both its educational mission and the local aviation community.

Hinds Community College offers a comprehensive range of aviation technology programs at this location, including pilot training, aviation management, avionics, airframe and powerplant certification, and air traffic control training. These new hangars enhance the operational capabilities of the airport and provide vital infrastructure for aircraft storage for local businesses and aviation enthusiasts.

These facilities will serve this growing airport and pro-vide aircraft storage for the local aircraft business and enthusiast community.

The project was completed by (MWA) predecessor firm. William McElroy served as Principal for the project.
