Nissan Training Center

DESCRIPTION

Completed in 2004, the Nissan On-Site Training Facility serves as a permanent center for the instruction, testing, and training of employees and prospective hires at the Nissan North America Plant in Canton, Mississippi.

The design and construction of the 68,000-square-foot training facility includes:

• Sixteen classrooms (including multi-purpose, computer training, and video conference rooms)
• Six technology laboratories
• One vehicle repair training area
• Five offices and conference rooms
• One paint training area

This facility is part of the broader Nissan North America manufacturing campus, which opened in 2003. The plant is situated on a 1,400-acre site and includes a 2.8 million-square-foot manufacturing facility with the capacity to produce up to 250,000 vehicles annually.

The project was completed through a joint venture with Dale & Associates, under McElroy Architecture’s predecessor firm. William McElroy served as Principal for the project.
